Meet BA graduate, Roslyn Mooy of Trail, British Columbia
Roslyn Mooy, author of two books—Carousel and Carousel The Missing Years—resides in Trail, British Columbia. Although she uses the pen name Kimberley Rose Dawson, Roslyn’s stories are based on the very real challenges she has faced over the course of her own life. Her personal stories of anxiety, depression, and the physical pain of fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease and arthritis, while heartbreaking, are also courageous and inspiring.
In Carousel, Roslyn chronicles her life as she battles, not only her physical and emotional pain, but alcoholism and the severe physical abuse she suffered in each of her four marriages. Being hospitalized twice for nervous breakdowns was part of what Roslyn describes as, “a nightmare life.” With five children to raise and physical and emotional disabilities preventing her from holding down a regular job, Roslyn realized she had to find another way to earn a living.
